With over two decades of executive experience, Mr. Ramaphoi has served in senior roles at the Bank of Botswana, Standard Chartered Bank, and Stanbic Bank, gaining deep insight into capital flows, investment requirements, and financial tools for business growth.

He previously led the Companies and Intellectual Property Authority (CIPA) as Caretaker-Registrar General, championing intellectual property as a driver of innovation and economic diversification, and fostering regional cooperation through a landmark SADC-ARIPO agreement.

Before his current role as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Trade and Entrepreneurship, he was Executive Director for Investor Attraction at the Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA), strengthening his expertise in incentives that draw foreign capital and businesses. He also served as the inaugural Permanent Secretary of the then Ministry of Entrepreneurship, advancing policies to promote SMEs and empower women and youth.

His leadership has earned accolades including Banker of the Year (2002, 2004) and Debswana’s National Service Excellence Gold Star Award (2011). He holds an MBA in Business Finance and a BA in Economics from the University of Botswana.
